Tennis Star Laura Robson Postpones Return to the Sport

Star tennis player Laura Robson has decided not to participate in her planned comeback tournament in Surprise, Arizona this week. Sources believe she has made a ‘safety-first’ decision to wait a little longer before putting a large amount of strain on her wrist during play.

As we discussed in this post, Robson underwent an operation 10 months ago due to a wrist tendon injury. Robson has, until recently, been practicing using soft foam balls instead of regular tennis balls.

Instead of participating in the Surprise, Arizona tournament, Robson is expected to play in another relatively low-level tournament, such as one of the two $25,000 Santa Fe, California tournaments over the next month.
