Rangers Ryan McDonagh Returns After Hand Injury
Dr Pruzansky | April 22, 2016
New York Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh suffered a broken hand in early April, making his NHL playoff run doubtful.
McDonagh made a surprise return to practice after being out for two weeks, though he was still considered doubtful for game action.
Even though hockey injuries are part of the game, it was an even bigger surprise that he laced up for Game 3 versus the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round of the 2016 playoffs.
On April 4th, McDonagh blocked a shot with his right hand and suffered a small break of the metacarpal bones.
McDonagh is no stranger to playing with injuries. In Game 7 of the 2015 Eastern Conference finals against the Tampa Bay Lightning, he played on a broken right foot.
