Wrist Injury Prevents Tennis Star Robson from Competing for the Rest of 2015

Dr Pruzansky | October 26, 2015

Unfortunately, Laura Robson has cancelled all of her scheduled events for this year, and announced she wouldn’t return to the court until 2016.

The former Wimbledon junior champion has had a string of bad luck in regards to tennis injuries. She has recently been out of competition since the US Open, where she was defeated in the first round by Elena Vesnina just two points shy of claiming a victory. Robson also lost in the first round at Wimbledon.

Thanks to a left wrist tendon injury that required surgery, the 21-year-old was previously out of competition for just over a year and a half, returning to action at Eastbourne in June.

Robson’s team was said to have made the decision that it’s more effective for her to spend the rest of the season focusing on her training and fitness, rather than spending that time travelling to tournaments.
