Two Atlanta Braves Leave Game With Contusions of the Hand
Dr Pruzansky | March 20, 2014
In Sunday’s loss to the New York Yankees, both catcher/outfielder Ryan Doumit and first baseman Freddie Freeman left the game with hand injuries after being struck by the ball. After evaluation, neither of the injuries were serious and both players are expected back in the lineup this week. Metacarpal fractures were averted in both of these instances. Contusions are treated with ice, anti-inflammatories, and prudent rapid rehabilitation techniques.
