Baseball players should take notice.
This year, spectacular highlight catches are coming with a price – hand fractures.
Rays’ outfielder Kevin Kiermaier became yet another victim Saturday night as he received two metacarpal fractures when diving to make a catch.
Kiermaier immediately left the game due to the tremendous hand pain. He’s expected to be out at least four to six weeks.
The injury is another blow for the Rays who have struggled with injuries to key players over the last few weeks.
