Rangers’ Adrian Beltre Dislocated and Lacerated Thumb During Slide

Dr Pruzansky | June 13, 2015

Rangers’ Adrian Beltre dislocated and lacerated his right thumb sliding into second base on June 7th during the team’s win over the Boston Red Sox.

The injury caused Beltre to need four stitches from a hand surgeon along with treatment for his dislocated thumb.

Rangers’ team spokespeople said Beltre will miss at least two weeks due to the injury, leaving the team in a weakened position of being without an ideal third baseman.

Prior to the injury, Beltre hadn’t missed a game since last April, an in-play streak of 191 games.
