Professional Golfer Michelle Wie Is Out With a Wrist Injury
Dr Pruzansky | August 11, 2014
Michelle Wie withdrew during the first round of the Meijer LPGA Classic on August 7, 2014, due to a right wrist injury. Her nagging wrist problems began in 2007, when she fell jogging, spraining the right and fracturing the left.
The most common injuries to the right wrist in a right-handed golfer, involve the triangular fibrocartilage complex, the extensor carpi ulnaris subsheath, and tendons to the thumb base.
Because she has had problems since a fall in 2007, intercarpal ligament injuries may also present themselves in the golf swing.
