Orioles Outfielder Jimmy Paredes Leaves Game With Wrist Injury

Dr Pruzansky | March 8, 2016

Orioles outfielder Jimmy Paredes left last Thursday’s spring training game against the Tampa Bay Rays after attempting to make a sliding catch in right field.

According to reports, as Paredes slid, his glove hand was twisted backward awkwardly during the catch attempt, leaving him with wrist pain that immediately took him off the field.

Teammates feared Paredes had suffered a wrist fracture, but an X-ray of his wrist came back negative. The outfielder has now been diagnosed with a wrist sprain.

Last season Paredes was a designated hitter and he put up solid numbers. This season he is hoping to make the lineup more consistently, but his wrist sprain will set him back for a period.
