Giants’ Jason Pierre-Paul Scheduled for Off-Season Hand Surgery
New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul will be having another surgery on his injured right hand.
The surgery is scheduled for the off-season, with hand surgeons with similar expertise as Dr. Mark E. Pruzansky and Dr. Jason S. Pruzansky hoping to provide Pierre-Paul with greater flexibility to his middle finger.
Pierre-Paul’s finger is shorter than it once was, but thicker, due to a skin graft performed to repair the severe burns he suffered during a Fourth of July fireworks accident.
Pierre-Paul is eager to be rid of the wrapping he has been wearing to protect his hand, stating “On film, you can see the club is preventing me from making tackles. People see it, I see it, and once I can move away from the club, I’ll be perfectly fine.”
Pierre-Paul has realized the value of his hand post football injury, stating “You really notice how much you need it after it’s gone.”
