Cav’s Forward Kevin Love Injures Hand Going for Rebound
Cleveland Cav’s power forward Kevin Love suffered an injury to his right hand in the second half of Monday night’s game against the Phoenix Suns.
While vying with Tyson Chandler for a rebound, Love’s hand was slapped, which caused him to grimace in pain while attempting to shake off the discomfort. He referred to his injured hand as a “stinger,” but it was actually his thumb that was hurt.
This lead fans, teammates and coaches to worry his hand pain was due to a metacarpal fracture.
Prior to his hand being hit, Love was playing well – scoring 16 points and draining three 3-pointers. Afterward, however, he did not contribute any more points to the team’s eventual 101-97 victory.
Love says he expects to play in the upcoming game against the Nuggets Tuesday night.
