Angels’ first baseman Albert Pujols had to leave the field during Wednesday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays after a wild pitch hit him in the wrist.
Initially, Pujols stayed in the game to run the bases and play defense, but he was later removed for a pinch-hitter.
Wednesday evening the team announced Pujols likely had bruised his left wrist. Tests came back negative for wrist fractures.
Pujols has a record of .231/.288/.413 with seven home runs in 143 at-bats this season.
